Candidates Night in Dudley set for Oct. 15

DUDLEY - The Board of Selectman is sponsoring a Candidates Night on Monday, October 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Dudley Municipal Center.

The purpose of the event is to offer candidates for U.S. Congress, State Senator, and State Representative the ability to discuss their ideas and goals with members of the Board of Selectmen, the local press and members of the Dudley community.

Incumbent State Senator Richard T. Moore, (D-Uxbridge), has confirmed his attendance. He is runnning unopposed. The candidates for state representative for the 6th Worcester District, incumbent Peter J. Durant (R-Spencer) and his challenger Kathleen Walker, selectman in Charlton, have both confirmed their attendence. Incumbent U.S. Congressman Richard E. Neal (D-Springfield) was invited but will be unable to attend because of a prior engagement.

Board chairman Jonathan Ruda will moderate the event. The four other Dudley selectmen, Steven Sullivan, Peter Fox, Paul Joseph, and John Marsi will each be allowed to ask two questions. Members of the local press will be alotted one question each.   Audience members mya submit question to the moderator and by Twitter as time allows.
