On Friday, October 19th at approximately 3:15 pm, Dudley Police as well as Dudley Fire and Emergency Services personnel were dispatched to a single car motor vehicle accident on Dresser Hill Road (Route 31) at the intersection with Hickory Drive.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero in the southbound lane.  The vehicle appeared to have been traveling in a northerly direction and left the roadway at a curve.  It struck a utility pole, other objects along the roadside, and rolled over before coming to rest.  The vehicle caught fire shortly after the accident.  There was driver and two passengers in this vehicle.  All are juveniles.  A passerby assisted at least one of the passengers out of the vehicle.  The male operator suffered what appeared to be minor injuries.  The two passengers were treated by the responding officers and Dudley Emergency Services personnel.  They were later transported to UMass Hospital in Worcester.  Both passengers are teenage males.  One was in serious condition while the other complained of pain.  The cause of the accident is under investigation at this point by Dudley Officers Chandler Boyd, Anthony Didonato, and Ryan Daniels.  Initially, speed appears to be a factor in this crash.  Due to the damage to the pole, traffic detours will be in place for several hours and power outages may be in effect.
