POLICE REPORT
On Sunday, January 15th at approximately 12:30am, Dudley Police, as well as Dudley Fire and Emergency Services personnel, were dispatched to a single car motor vehicle accident on Dudley Hill Road, near the intersection of D’Alessandro Avenue. The accident occurred in the area of #4 Dudley Hill Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 1995 Blue BMW Convertible off the side of the road. The vehicle appeared to have been traveling in a southerly direction and crossed the center of the roadway. It then left the road, traveling over a lawn, before striking a tree. It finally came to rest in a ditch along the road.
There were no occupants of the vehicle located in the immediate area. The vehicle was registered to a resident of 237 West Main Street in Dudley, which is located approximately 100 yards from the accident scene. Based upon this information, and from a license found in the vehicle, officers responded to that location.
Officer James Rivera discovered a person present at that address with visible injuries to his face.
Based upon further investigation by the officers, this person was believed to have been the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle involved in the accident. He was also suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. He is identified as Kevin M. Brote age 42 of 237 West Main Street Dudley.
He was transported by Dudley Ambulance Personnel to Harrington Hospital for treatment. Mr. Brote is being summoned to court at a later date on charges which include a fourth offense of driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and failure to inspect a motor vehicle.
The accident is under investigation at this point by Dudley Officers Anthony DiDonato, Arthur Ferreira, James Rivera, and Jaime Camacho.
