Shepherd Hill girls split
Beat Shrewsbury, lose to Auburn
By Steev Riccardo
Dudley – The Shepherd Hill girls lost to Auburn 44-31 on Thursday (February 7) but rebounded nicely with a thrilling 49-45 win over Shrewsbury on Sunday (February 10) on seniors night in their last regular season home game.
Senior co-captain Taylor Daniels led the Rams with nine points in the loss to Auburn, while junior Brooke Packard and sophomore Ciara McKissick had eight points a piece.
Sunday was a different story as the Rams were sparked by the outstanding play of senior JoJo L’Heureux, who led the way with 11 points. Daniels had another nice game with nine points while Packard and senior co-captain Tine Gauvin each scored eight points in the win.
"We rallied together as a team,” said Packard, and played hard defense and won it for the seniors. Jojo (L'Heureux) had an awesome game both offensively and defensively. We all stepped up and did our jobs and our defense won the game for us.”
The Rams were 13-4 heading into their final regular season game against Holy Name Tuesday night (February 12).
They will participate in the Westborough invitational, which starts on February 17, and then it’s the district playoffs.
