The District playoff schedule was released on Saturday and all three boys teams will play at least one playoff game at home this Tuesday night, while the Shepherd Hill girls will be hitting the road on Friday.
The Oxford Pirates (13-7), who progressed as the season went on, and are now playing their best basketball, earned the #4 seed in Division 2 and will host the Gardner Wildcats (8-12) on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. If the Pirates win they would play the winner of the Auburn-Blackstone Millville game on Thursday, a game which would also be played at Oxford High School, due to their high seed.
The Bartlett Indians (13-7) earned the #7 seed and for the second straight year in a row an opening round home game. This Tuesday they host Tyngsboro (11-9) at 7 p.m. The winner moves on to play #2 seed St. Bernard’s in Fitchburg on Thursday night.
The Shepherd Hill Rams (13-7) earned the #8 seed in Division 1 and will host Fitchburg in Dudley on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. If the Rams win, they will play #1 seed Algonquin (19-1) on Thursday in Northborough at 7p.m.
The Shepherd Hill Rams (14-6) girls’ basketball team will play at Doherty (15-5) on Friday night at 7 p.m. with the winner getting a date to the semi-finals with Holy Name (18-2) on Tuesday, March 5, at Clark University.
Although the Lady Rams have not played Doherty this season, they have met and lost to Holy Name three times, who have also beaten Doherty twice this season.
