Webster Cultural Council announces proposed grants for 2013

WEBSTER --The Webster Cultural Council has announced the awarded grants for the year 2013.

A total of $6600 has been approved, pending final approval from the Massachusetts Cultural Council in March.

The council has undergone a renovation, is looking for additional members, and will be accepting grant proposals again in August of 2013 for the following year.  Any art programs, humanities, science and related areas that benefit the community of Webster will be considered.  It is the effort of local volunteers to this town committee that makes this program work.

This year’s grants will support a wide range of programs from concerts, artists, opera, senior activities, library programs and school programs that might otherwise not be provided.  Enriching lives through exposure to a variety of arts is essential to the enhancement of our community and we are pleased to fund the following:

Webster Senior Center Entertainment and Art (schedule TBA senior center)

Webster Manor Big Band Concerts (open to all over the next year)

Corbin Library-Curious New England Paranormal Science - Spring 2013

Fall Seven Times, Stand Up Eight (arts and crafts at Park Ave School  -  March)

Opportunities in the Creative Arts Series – Bartlett High School Jack Keough - Spring

Dream Biog Magic Show – St Anne’s School - January 2013

Corbin Library Ecology of Sound – Spring 2013

Greater Worcester Opera at Park Ave School – school year 2013

Science of Bubble Ology St. Joseph’s School – January 2013

The Marble Collection – Art Publication Bartlett High School - Spring 2013
