Bartlett trounces Blackstone-Millville 95-71

The Bartlett Indians had all cylinders working as they took apart the Blackstone-Millville Chargers 95-71 on Tuesday night in Millville.
The Indians took control early and never trailed en route to their fourth victory of the season. Senior co-captain Nick Kobel led four Indians players in double figures with 31 points.
Senior co-captain DJ Kirby-Thomas, who is having a great season at power forward, added 14 points, while sophomore Alex Givens-Perry and Junior Matt Huberdault scored 11 each.
Kobel, who had his third 30-plus game of the season, came out possessed in the opening quarter, tossing in 16 points including a pair of long range three-pointers. Kirby-Thomas contributed 6 points and The Indians opened a 27-16 lead after one period and never looked back.
A balanced scoring attack in the second quarter coupled with some strong defensive play catapulted the visitors to a 52-32 halftime lead, closing out one of their best offensive assaults of the season.
The third quarter was a little tighter as the Chargers tried desperately to get back in the game, but the Indians still held a 19-17 scoring edge to make it 74-52 after three quarters.
Kobel hit a three-pointer to open the fourth quarter and Huberdault, who played his best game of the year for the Indians, hit a couple big shots and before you knew it,Bartlett Head Coach Tony Paranto was emptying his bench as the visitors coasted the rest of the way.
The Bartlett Junior Varsity lost 60-57 despite a solid 19-point performance by Neil Flanagan. The visitors also got a fine game from Jacob Simonis, who added 14 points in the loss.
