David J. Piekarczyk, age 53
Riverside, CA. – David J. Piekarczyk, age 53, formerly of Webster, died Monday, June 18, 2012, in California, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He leaves his mother, Marguerite (Lajoie) Piekarczyk of Dudley; a brother, Gary Piekarczyk and his wife Angela, of Dudley; seven sisters, Lynn Sosnowski and her husband Gary, of Woodstock, Carol Wonoski and her husband Kevin, of Dudley, Donna Israelian and her husband Mark, of Webster, Nancy Morin and her husband Joel, of Douglas, Susan Davis and her husband Christopher, of Charlton, Karen Martocci and her husband Thomas, of Dudley and Cindy Stawiecki and her husband Chad, of Thompson; 8 nieces and 10 nephews.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Frank Piekarczyk, who died November 26, 2004. He was a graduate of Bay Path Regional High School and earned his Masters Degree in Food Service from Johnson & Wales. He was the food service director at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana, CA., and was well respected by his co-workers. He enjoyed gardening, house restoration and being outdoors. He was an active member of his church.
Calling hours at the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Private burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Donations can be made in the memory of his father, Frank Piekarczyk, to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
