WEBSTER – Eva (Zalla) Tkacik, 83, of Webster passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester surrounded by her family. Her husband of 51 years, Andrew R. “Dick” Tkacik, died in 2005.

She leaves 3 children: Nancy J. Tkacik-McGilloway of Franklin, Jean S. Parent and her husband Donald of Peabody, and Lisa J. Morgan and her husband Kevin of Webster; 3 grandchildren, Sean and Lynn Morgan and Rebecca Tkacik-McGilloway; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, James and John Zalla and by her 2 sisters, Jennie Teguis and Anastasia Zalla.

She was born in Webster, the daughter of John and Olga Zalla and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1947. She married her high school sweetheart on June 7, 1953.

Mrs. Tkacik had several different jobs in her working career: an operator for New England Telephone in Webster, a proofreader for the Webster Times, an office clerk at Wajer’s Express in Dudley, a teller at Commerce Bank & Trust Company in Webster and an office clerk at Gould & Eberhardt. She retired in  1991.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 50 years. She served on the committee that organized BHS class reunions from the time she graduated. She enjoyed travelling, especially to Wellfleet on Cape Cod. She liked spending time with her many friends and especially with her family.

The funeral will be held Thursday, February 21, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a funeral at 10:00 AM in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 37 Lake Parkway. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 20, in the funeral home, with a Trisagion service at 6:00 PM.
