WEBSTER – Joyce E. (Harrison) Para, 87, formerly of Pond Court, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in Lanessa Extended Care after an illness. Her husband of 64 years, Ferdinand Para, died in 2008.

She leaves 2 sons, Fred A. Para and his wife Joyce T. of Dudley, and Gregory J. Para and his wife Linda of Quinebaug, CT; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Arthur and Fred Harrison, and by a sister, Shirley Logan.

She was born and raised in Haydock, England, a daughter of Fred and Hettie (Wilson) Harrison. She moved to Webster after her marriage in 1944.

Mrs. Para was a repairer at B & W Shoe Company before retiring in about 1980. She was a former member of the Church of the Reconciliation.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to Lanessa Extended Care Patient Activities Fund, 751 School St., Webster, MA 01570. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster.
