Kenneth W. Baker, 76
OXFORD – Kenneth W. Baker, 76, of Oxford, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. His wife of 30 years, Sherill Dean (O’Bryant) Baker, died in 2000.
He leaves a son, Mark W. and his wife Jackie Baker, with whom he resided; a step-son, Norman K. Minerich of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Glenwood E. Baker and a sister, Ruby B. Homer, both of Winchester, VA; 4 grandchildren, Sydney Baker, Lyndsay Baker, Jason Minerich and Regina Minerich; 4 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
He was born in Winchester, Virginia, a son of Byron E. and Helen V. (Saville) Baker. He earned an Associate Degree in Business from South West Texas State College.
Mr. Baker served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years as an aircraft mechanic. He was then employed as a mechanic with the United States Border Patrol in Texas until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of the VFW. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed motorcycle riding. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family and friends.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 24, at 11:00 AM in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family asks that flowers be omitted and donations in his memory be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
