Pauline E. (Piehl) Kindler, 89

CHARLTON – Pauline E. (Piehl) Kindler, 89, of Blood Road, died Friday, February 17, 2012, in her home. She was predeceased by her husband, Edmund Kindler of Charlton; her sister Selma Lang; and three brothers, Harold Piehl, Carl Piehl, and her twin Paul Piehl. She is survived by many nephews and nieces, as well as her dog Dutchy and cat Mimi. She was born in Charlton, the daughter of the late William and Ella (Schur) Piehl, and was a lifelong resident of Charlton. She graduated from Charlton High School.

Mrs. Kindler worked at American Optical in Southbridge, retiring in 1987. She owned and operated a dairy farm with her husband for many years, and she loved animals. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, 70 Main Street, Oxford. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Webster. A calling hour will be on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 70 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540, or to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
