Sabine A. Chickering, 57

Dudley - Sabine "Sam" A. (Neumann) Chickering, 57, died peacefully Saturday, May 5th at the home she loved surrounded by her loving family and friends after a valiant fight with cancer.

She leaves behind her husband, Ronald "Butch" Chickering, with whom she shared over 40 loving years of her life;

two daughters: Carly Chickering and her husband Steven Saad of Dudley and Shara Chickering-Hill and her husband Barry of Sandown, NH; one sister, Evita Saad and her husband Richard of Leicester; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and two nieces.

She was born in East Germany, the daughter of the late Erich and Hildegard Neumann.

Sabine emigrated with her parents in 1958 from East Germany, and was proud of her American citizenship. She was a loyal employee of Fallon in Worcester, working as a medical services analyst and retiring due to illness after 18 years. Sam was also a licensed Massachusetts real estate agent. She was a member of the first graduating class of Shepherd Hill Regional High School. In addition to her enjoyment of nature, her home, crafting, and shopping, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10th at 10a.m. in Bartel Funeral Home and Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
