Anna H. Shea

 OXFORD – Anna H. (McDaid) Shea, 63, of Dudley Road, died Sunday, February 21, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital, from complications of osteogenesis imperfecta compounded by severe osteoporosis. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Daniel F. Shea of Oxford; their son and daughter, Daniel B. Shea of Chandler, AZ, and Koren A. Adams and her husband Christopher of Webster; a brother, Victor of Ireland; five sisters, Celine, Marian, Majella, Eugenia, and Teresa of Ireland; five grandchildren, Katrina, Abigail, Vivian, Elisabeth, and Bryce; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sister Gerelyn. She was born in Derry, Northern Ireland, the daughter of the late Thomas V. and Eileen (McHugh) McDaid, and lived in Ireland before moving to the United States to work as a governess at age 21. She lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford 33 years ago.

Mrs. Shea was a machine operator at several area envelope companies for over 15 years. She was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford. Mrs. Shea was an exceptionally creative person who excelled in many crafts, including making clothing, embroidering, beaded jewelry, and wedding cakes. She enjoyed country line dancing, gardening, shopping with her daughter for the grandchildren, occasional trips to the casino, and traveling with her husband in their motor home.

The calling hours, funeral Mass, and burial will be private. Celia Wedda

 Webster- Celia Wedda, of 23 Whitcomb Street, died Saturday, February 27, 2010, at her home.

She leaves a sister, Irene Jankowski of Dudley, six nieces and one nephew.

She was born in Webster, daughter of the late Roman Charles and Agnes (Twardzik) Wedda and lived here all her life. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality, Saint Joseph Women’s Club and the Webster Stamp Club.

The funeral was held Tuesday, March 2, 2010, from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster with a Mass at 10:00 am in Saint Joseph Basilica, Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial was in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace.


Edward G. Oliver

 Webster - Edward G. Oliver, 75, died unexpectedly Monday, March 1 in Transitional Care Unit at Hubbard Campus of Harrington Healthcare, Webster, MA.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Natalie (Cordeiro) Oliver; two sons: Andrew Oliver of Douglas, MA, and David Oliver of Douglas, MA; two sisters: Catherine Boutin of Fairhaven, MA, Clara Catarino of New Bedford, MA and a brother: William Oliver of Westport, MA. Three cherished grandchildren: granddaughter, Hannah Oliver; Granddaughter, Paige Oliver, Grandson, Seth Oliver all of Douglas, MA; Several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Westport, MA, the son of the late William and the late Annie (Souza) Oliver. He lived most his life in Westport. He moved to Webster nine years ago to be close to his sons. He worked as a domestic buyer for 30 years for Mars Department Stores before retiring.

Edward enjoyed spending time with his family, his three grandchildren were the light of his life.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated, Thursday March 11 at 11:00 AM in St. Dennis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas. Burial will be private in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford. There are no calling hours. Florence Polissack

 WEBSTER - Florence “Lily” Polissack, 84, died Tuesday, February 23 at home after a long illness. She was born on December 21, 1925 in London, England. She immigrated to the US in 1952 and lived in Worcester for most of that time.

Lily was one of nine children born to Charles & Lily Marshall. After finishing secondary school she enlisted in the Women’s Royal Army Corps and served in England during WW II.

Lily retired in 1987 after working for many years as the coordinator of the RSVP Program of the Age Center of Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Polissack, who died in 1979 and her daughter, MaryBeth Courville, in 2009.

She is survived by her extended family: her brother Frank Marshall of Webster, her sister Ethel Casey of Shrewsbury, her children Robyn and her husband Lothar Franke, Edward and his wife Paula, and John. Her grandchildren, who were both the light of her life and the bane of her existence, include: David, Kristen, Jamie, Keith, and Kaitlyn Courville, Joseph Polissack, and Geoffrey Franke. She is also survived by her three great grandchildren: Christian, Matthew, & MacKenzie.

A memorial service will be held for Lily on Thursday, March 4th, 11 a.m.at the First Congregational Church, 135 Center Road, Dudley, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lily’s name to the Community Cat Connection, 289 Main Street, Webster.

Jacqueline Coyle

 Webster - Jacqueline E. “Jackie” (Wagher) Coyle, 79, of 124 Thompson Rd.,passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in her home with her family by her side.

Her husband of 51 years, Donald J. “Ace’ Coyle died in 2003.

She leaves behind five children, Peter F. Coyle and his wife Sharon of Thompson, Ct., Michael J. Coyle and his wife Tammy of Long Island, New York, Mary Lou Davis of Marietta, GA., Vivian Lee wife of Stephen Borachaner of West Chester, PA., and Elizabeth C. Sielawa of Webster, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, one brother, Arthur W. Wagher of Thompson, CT., nieces, nephews and a son-in-law, Leon Sielawa, Jr. of Webster.

Jackie was born in Webster, daughter of Frank and Vivian (Rouleau) Wagher and lived here all her life.

Mrs. Coyle worked as a telephone operator for several years. Later she and her husband owned and operated Coyle’s House of Champions in Worcester and then Pennant Fever in Shrewsbury and Natick, she served as president of the companies.

She graduated in 1949 from St. Louis High School.

Jackie was a member of St. Louis Parish in Webster and was very active and supported her children and grandchildren as a sports fan when they were growing up.

Her family always came first and she loved them all very much.

Jackie will always be remembered as a quiet, gentle lady to all she met throughout the years.

The Funeral was Monday, March 1, 2010 with a Mass at 10AM in St. Louis Church,16 Lake St., burial was with her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Janice A. Moran

 DUDLEY – Janice A. (Szeredy) Moran, 63, of Dudley, died Friday, February 26, at the Meadows of Leicester with her family at her side.

She leaves a son, Craig M. Moran; a daughter, LiAnne Perzanoski and her husband Scott; and three grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jacob and Aiden, all of Dudley.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Jacob “Jake” Szeredy and Anna (Augustyn) Szeredy, and lived in Dudley all her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1964 and attended Worcester State College.

Janice was the co-owner of the Coffee Cup in Dudley for many years. She then retired as manager of Widoff’s Bakery in Worcester in 2002.

She enjoyed reading, traveling and gardening. She was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.

The funeral was held Monday, March 1, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Roch’s Church, 332 Main Street, Oxford. Jean A. Grebb

 WEBSTER - Jean A. Grebb, 89, passed away of old age on February 8, 2010 in Arlington, VA. Her husband of 49 years, Max G. Grebb, a longtime Webster pharmacist, passed away in 1996.

She is survived by her son, Michael D. Grebb, a retired Air Force Colonel and an employee of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in Washington, DC, with whom she lived; her daughter-in-law, Janet Meiburger, an attorney in McLean, VA; her brother, Harry Ansorge, a retired patent attorney of New York City; and her two grandsons, Air Force Second Lieutenant Kevin Grebb, stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA and David Grebb, an engineering student at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. Her other son, Dr. Jack A Grebb, a psychiatrist and a medical research vice-president at Bristol-Myers-Squibb in Connecticut, passed away in 2007.

She was born and raised in New York City, the daughter of Harry O. and Rosa D. (Rothschild) Ansorge. She graduated from Wadleigh High School and from Hunter College, both in New York. She later earned both a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Arts Degree from Worcester State College here and also was awarded a Master of Library Science Degree from the University of Rhode Island. She lived in Webster from 1947 until moving to her son’s home in Arlington in 2007.

She served in the Women’s Army Corps in New Guinea and in the Philippines in World War II, attaining the rank of Major. During this time, she met her future husband.

Mrs. Grebb was the librarian at Southbridge High School in Southbridge for many years before retiring in 1985. After her career in education, she served on the Webster Zoning Board for many years.

She loved outdoor activities: snow and water skiing, sailing, biking and swimming. An avid reader, she was well versed in current events. However, her greatest joy was her grandsons. This past May, she attended her grandson Kevin’s Air Force commissioning in Atlanta, and his graduation from Georgia Tech the following day at the Georgia Dome. Last October, she joined her grandson David and other family members for dinner in the University of Virginia’s famous Rotunda, which was designed by Thomas Jefferson.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 11, 2010, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a funeral service at 5:15 PM during the calling hours. Burial, with military honors, will be in Elmvale Cemetery in Woodstock, CT, at a later date.

Patricia Faneuf

 Dudley - Patricia (Nachajko) Faneuf, 68, of 99 Ramshorn Rd., died Tuesday Feb 23 at her home.

She was predeceased by Husband of 21 years, Howard Faneuf in 2000. She leaves her children Douglas R. Durand of Danielson, CT, Donna M. Healy of Thompson, CT, Daniel C. Durand of Pomfret, CT, Diane E. Breen of Charlton and Daryl R. Faneuf of Dudley; Step sons, Paul Faneuf of MD; Timothy Faneuf of NC; two sisters: Elizabeth Recko and Nancy Pershula both of Thompson, CT; two brothers: Kenneth Nachajko of Barbados and Ronald Nachajko of Putnam, CT. She was predeceased by a sister Sandra Anthony.

Her pride and joy were her Nine; grandchildren, Maurice, Jessica, Kayla and Erin Healy of Thompson. Harry and Lucia Durand of Pomfret. Kylie, Kelsey and Kadey Breen of Charlton; several nieces and nephews

She was born in Dudley, MA, the daughter of the late Chester and the late Elizabeth (Lemanski) Nachajko. She lived most of her life in Dudley. Patricia enjoyed cooking for her family and entertaining family and friends at her home.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday March 9 at 10:00AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St., Dudley. Robert F. Stevens

 DUDLEY -- Robert F. Stevens, 79, a long time resident of Dudley, Massachusetts, passed away Wednesday, Feb 24, 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sylvia Lois (Fitts) Stevens: four sons, Robert Stevens Jr. and his wife Shirley of Sierra Vista, Arthur Stevens of Sierra Vista, Bruce Stevens and his wife Ann of Sierra Vista, and Michael Stevens and his wife Susan of Woodstock, Connecticut; a daughter, Cynthia Shropshire and her husband Mick of Albany, New York; a brother, William Stevens and his wife Floris of Oxford, Mass; a sister, Phyllis Thurlow of Killingly, Conn; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nephews and nieces.

He was born April 20, 1930, in Killingly, Ct. the son of the late Harvey M. and Ethel M. (Allen) Stevens.

Bob is preceded in death by two brothers, George Stevens of Webster, Mass, and John Stevens of Plainfield, Conn; five sisters, Eleanor Forcier of Leicester, MA, Arlene Johnson of Leicester, MA, Dorothy Stevens of Worcester, MA, Alice Slingo of Oxford, MA and Ruth Stevens of Webster, MA.

Bob served his country in the US Army as a military police officer. He received his Army Occupation Medal (Germany), He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, 24th Masonic District and just received his 50-year pin. Bob worked for the US Postal Service until retiring in 1990, before relocating to Sierra Vista, AZ.

Bob enjoyed traveling, spending time at the local casinos, acting as tour guide to their visitors in Arizona, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 5, 2010, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Westridge Cemetery, Charlton. Calling hours are Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. www.paradisfuneralhome.com


Robert J. Wilkinson

 Oxford/Brewster - Robert J. Wilkinson, 97, formerly of Oxford, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 in Epoch Senior Health Center in Brewster.

His wife, Catherine I. (Sahn) Wilkinson died in 2004. He leaves a daughter, Barbara Pichel of East Harwich. He was born in North Hampton, son of James A. and Louise (Rauch) Wilkinson.

He worked for 27 years as a machinist for British Petroleum.

As per Mr. Wilkinson’s wishes,there are no calling hours and funeral services will be private.

Sandra Franek

 Webster – Sandra (Ceppetelli) Franek, 62, of 12 Perryville Rd., died Thursday, February 25 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She leaves her husband of 43 years, Ronald Franek; two daughters: Ronda Franek and Jennifer Germano and granddaughter, Taylor Germano all Webster; two brothers: Joseph E. Ceppetelli and his wife Arlene of Malden, MA, Paul E Ceppetelli and his wife Marlene of Dudley; one sister: Patricia DeFrazio and her husband Carlo of Henderson, NV. She also leaves several aunts, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was born in Webster, MA, the daughter of the late Eugene and the late Mary A (Perichino) Ceppetelli. She grew up in Dudley and attended Dudley schools and lived in Webster most all her life.

She worked at Bates shoe from 1978 until its closing in 1986. Sandra enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and loved trips to the beach. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and to the care of her own mother.

Sandra’s family would like to thank the Doctors and all the staff at the Levine Cancer Center and the Allegiance Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Sandra.

Sandra’s funeral was held Tuesday, March 2nd, from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St., Webster.
