Dorothy I. Mosman

 North Brookfield – Dorothy I. (Emerson) Mosman, age 88, of 143 Summer Street, died Thursday, August 28, 2008, at UMASS Memorial Health Care – University Campus, Worcester, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Her husband, Russell M. Mosman, age 83, of 143 Summer Street, died Friday, August 29, 2008, at UMASS Memorial Health Care – University Campus, Worcester from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Russ and Dot were married for 65 years and together are survived by their children, Russell E. Mosman of Manchester, NH; Sandra Grant of East Brookfield, Linda Novak, with whom they lived in North Brookfield, Amy Plante of Worcester and Cynthia Fields of New Hampshire; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition, Russ is survived by 4 brothers, Kenneth Mosman, Wayne Mosman, Neil Mosman and Elwyn Mosman.

Dot was born in Yarmouth, MA, daughter of the late Charles and Stella (Silver) Emerson and was a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was an avid jigsaw puzzle builder. She enjoyed taking care of her family.

Russ was born in Worcester, son of the late Russell and Marthena (Merrill) Mosman and was the owner and operator of the Colonial Steel & Stamp Company. He was an avid beekeeper, novice painter and a Master bridge player. He raised Beagles and won the Purina National Beagle Award back in the 80’s. He was a World War II, U.S. Army Air Corps. Veteran.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster is directing arrangements


John S. Bulejcik

 Webster – John S. Bulejcik, age 86, of 39 Cudworth Road, died Saturday, August 30, 2008, at home.

His wife, Frances (Majkut) Bulejcik, died in 1998. He leaves a daughter, Jane Becker and her husband Ralph Becker of Milford; two sisters, Irene Russell and Rose Sterczala, both of Webster; one granddaughter, Julia Becker of Milford.

He was born in Dudley, son of the late Stephen and Anna (Strakovic) Bulejcik and lived here most of his life. He was a mail carrier in Webster for 31 years before his retirement. He was a World War II and Korean War, United States Marine Corps. Veteran, and was a member of the American Legion and the Postal Retirement Club.

John’s funeral will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2008, with a Mass at 10:00 am in Saint Joseph’s Basilica, Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial, with military honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veteran’s Council, will follow in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster is directing arrangements.


John W. Kokocinski

 WEBSTER – John W. “Koko” Kokocinski, 60, of 81 Killdeer Island Road, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 26, while working in Worcester.

He leaves his loving wife of 35 years, Marilyn E. “Lynn” Kokocinski; a son, John D. Kokocinski and his wife Jillian of Oxford; a daughter, Keri L. Tremblay and her husband Jonathan of Woodstock, CT; two granddaughters, Talia and Kaelyn Tremblay; a brother, Retired State Police Lieutenant William Kokocinski and his wife Denise of Charlton; two sisters, Bernice Courtemanche and her husband Robert of Webster and Susan Kokocinski of Sturbridge; a brother-in-law, David Meagher and his wife Lyn of Webster; a sister-in-law, Donna Lagano and her husband Larry of Oakley, CA; many nephews and nieces. He was eagerly awaiting the birth of his third grandchild this October.

He was born in Worcester, a son of John A. and Florence M. (Morin) Kokocinski and was a lifelong resident of Webster. He attended Bartlett High School and obtained an Associates Degree in Fire Science from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester.

He was proud that he served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He received many awards and attained the rank of Corporal.

Mr. Kokocinski was a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Worcester for the past 32 years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church where he served as a collector every week. He belonged to the Polish American Veterans and the Disabled American Veterans. He was on the Board of Directors of the Worcester Postal Credit Union. He enjoyed playing golf and was currently in the Thursday evening league at Thompson Raceway Golf Course. He loved yard work and gardening. His family was his pride and joy.

“Koko” lived life knowing what was most important – his family. He lived by the words: “Always remember what is important in life is not the material things; it’s the love of family and the memories you leave behind.”

The funeral was held Friday, August 29, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council performed the military honors. Donations in his memory may be made to either Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 18 East Main St., or to Saint Anne’s Elementary School, 12 Day St., PO Box 818, both in Webster, MA 0l570.


Joseph C. Guyette

 Webster - Joseph C. Guyette, 91, of 2 Golden Heights passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008 in U.Mass. Hospital, Worcester. His wife of 69 years, Lydia M. (Girardin) Guyette died in 2007. Joe leaves behind one daughter, Theresa D. wife of Philippe C. Decelles of Webster, one sister, Doris Polinski of Auburn, one sister-in-law, Pauline Guyette of Northbridge and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was born in Northbridge son of Joseph C. and Victoria (Pottie) Guyette, Sr. and lived in Webster most of his life. He was a truck driver for the former Maanexit Spinning Co. in Webster for over 25 years and retired in 1979. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and the League of Sacred Heart.

The funeral will be Thursday, September 4, 2008 with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be a calling hour from 9:30-10:30 A.M. prior to the Mass at the Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St. Please omit flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.


Narcisse Peloquin

 Dudley - Narcisse L “TED” Peloquin, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on August 26th after succumbing to a recent illness.

Born on March 3, 1922 in Southbridge, MA, son of Narcisse and Odeile (Lamonthe) Peloquin. Ted resided in Dudley for 40 years. He was a Naval Veteran of World War II and proud to have shaken the hand of President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Yalta Conference. Ted served on the Mohegan Council of the Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years and was an Eucharistic Minister. He retired from Hyde Manufacturing in Southbridge after 46 years of service.

Ted is survived by his wife Norma J. (Raby) Peloquin, daughter Arleen and her husband Michael D. Smith of Dudley; Grandchildren Sabrina and Nicholas Smith; Sister Estelle Mandeville of Southbridge; Several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by a sister Constance Labelle.

The family wishes to thank the staff of & ICU at the UMASS Medical Center University Campus for their exemplary service and support.

Ted’s funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday Aug.29 at 11 AM in St. Stephens Church, Corner Of Route 197 & 131, in Quinebaug CT. Burial followed in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge. Rene N. Picard

 Danielson - Rene N. Picard, age 68, of 29 Rosedale Street, died Friday, August 29, 2008, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam.

He leaves his wife of 47 years, Pauline A. (Sorel) Picard of Danielson; a daughter, Lori Drouin and her husband Victor Drouin of Ashford; a brother, Robert "Bob" Picard and his wife Charlotte Picard of Danielson; a sister, Gloria Russo and her husband Sandro Russo of Moosup; one step granddaughter, two step great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Dr. Brenda L. Picard, who died January 2, 1998 and by his godchild, Karen Hall.

Rene was born in Putnam, CT, son of the late Wildor and Lucille (Guertin) Picard and lived in Danielson for 19 years. He had previously lived in Putnam most of his life. He was a 1959 graduate of the Putnam Trade School and was a honorary lifetime member of the USAF Air Defense Team. He was a retired factory worker having worked 27 years at Pervel in Plainfield and 13 years at Rogers Corporation in Rogers.

Funeral services and burial will be private. The family requests that flowers be omitted and that donations in Rene's memory be made to the Dr. Brenda L. Rita E. Johnson

 Charlton - Rita E. (LaPlante) Johnson 92, of Oxbow Rd., passed away Monday, August 25, 2008 in Radius Healthcare in Southbridge. Her husband, Robert E. Johnson died in 1981. Rita leaves behind four children, Robert L. Johnson of Lamont, FLA., Rita E. Johnson of Charlton, Alice L. Thomas of Kailua, Hawaii, and Kathleen E. Crocker of Dudley and four grandchildren.

Rita was born in Sturbridge daughter of Louis and Alice (Paradise) LaPlante and lived in Oxford many years before moving to Charlton. She was a nurse at the former Pondville Hospital in Walpole and Worcester State Hospital, prior to that she worked at the former American Opitical Co. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Clara Barton Chapter, former Girl Scout leader, former member of the Oxford Women’s Club and a former member of the Oxford Congregational Church.Funeral services were private with burial in West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton. The Robert J. Miller-Charlton Funeral Home, 175 Old Worcester Rd., in Charlton assisted Rita’s family with arrangements.


Rose J. Marois

 WEBSTER – Rose J. (Zielinski) Marois, 96, of Christopher Heights, formerly of Golden Heights, died Tuesday, August 27, in Lanessa Extended Care Facility. Her first husband, Peter J. Kozlowski, died in 1953. Her second husband, Eugene J. Marois, died in 1973.

She leaves a daughter, Ann R. Johnson and her husband Richard of North Grosvenordale, CT; a son, Peter J. Kozlowski and his wife Jane of Putnam, CT; a sister, Leokadya “Dottie” Czupryna of Webster; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Raymond and Robert Kozlowski.

She was born in Webster, a daughter of Valentine and Rose (Golash) Zielinski and lived here all her life.

Mrs. Marois was a repairer at Sandlerette Footwear Company in Webster for many years before she retired.

She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and its Sacred Heart Society. She also belonged to the Daughters of Isabella.

A memorial Mass was held Friday, Sept. 5, at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial was in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Saint Joseph School, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster.


Simon M. Pahigian

 East Dennis/Worcester - Simon M. Pahigian, 87, of Blackfoot Way, East Dennis,passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in Cape Cod Hospital. He leaves behind three children, Susan J.Grise and her husband Earl of Hyannis, Richard S. Pahigian and his wife Cathy of Charlton, and Robert M. Pahigian and his wife Gloria of Leicester.Mr.Pahigian also leaves three grandchildren and one brother, Vartkis Pahigian of Worcester a one sister, Lucy Pahigian of Worcester.

Simon was born in Lawrence ,son of Manood and Nazlou (Minasian) Pahigian on April 26, 1921 and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to East Dennis.He attended Worcester Jr .College and Clark University.He worked as a machining foreman for Coppus Engineering and later for the George F. Meyer Mfg. Co.

Mr. Pahigian served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps, 3rd Air Force as a crew chief for 38 months, at the rank of Corporal, in charge of fighter planes and bombers such as P-38 Thunderbolts, P-40 Black Widows, B-17 Flying Fortress, and B-24 Liberators.

There are no calling hours. There was a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in Hope Cemetery in Worcester with the Rev. Fr. Khatchadour Boghossian officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mr. Pahigian’s name may be made to: The M.S.P.C.A. in Centerville, MA. The Robert J. Susan K. Carlson

  Oxford - Susan K. (Raymond) Carlson 55, of 48 Wheelock St., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family after a three month battle with cancer on Sunday, August 31, 2008. Susan leaves behind two daughters, Jennifer T. wife of Robert Billings of Oxford, and Hilary K. wife of James Malloy of Worcester, a grand-daughter, Katelyn Bullock, one brother, Joseph Raymond of Dayville, Ct., Three sisters, Linda Guerin of Auburn, Donna LaPlume of Worcester, and Karyn Raymond of Oxford, also several nieces and nehews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was born in Worcester daughter of Dorothy (Croteau) Raymond and lived in Oxford most of her life.

Susan was a registered nurse at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital for 31 years, and was a certified rehabilitation nurse specializing and assisting patients with spinal and brain injuries. She attended Burncoat High School, David Hale Fanning and Becker Jr. College where she received her nursing degree. Susan was also a member of St.Roch’s Church.

The funeral will be Wednesday, September 3,2008 with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Roch’s Church, 334 Main St. Burial will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. There will be a calling period on Wednesday morning, prior to the Mass from 9:00 -10:45 A.M. in The Robert J. Miller-Oxford Funeral Home,247 Main St. (Route 12 South).
